This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic Religious Education based on eco-theology in shaping students’ environmental care behavior at MI Al-Kifayah Riau. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research participants consisted of six classroom teachers selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which included data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that eco-theology-based Islamic Religious Education was implemented through the integration of Islamic values, particularly tauhid, khalifah, amanah, responsibility, cleanliness, and the prohibition of environmental destruction. These values were integrated into contextual learning, direct environmental activities, daily habituation, and teachers’ role modeling. The findings also indicated that students demonstrated increased awareness of maintaining classroom and school cleanliness, disposing of waste properly, caring for plants, using water responsibly, and reminding peers to protect the environment. However, the implementation faced several challenges, including differences in students’ characteristics, the need for continuous reinforcement, the influence of family environments, and the absence of a formally structured eco-theology program. The study concludes that integrating eco-theology into Islamic Religious Education can strengthen students’ ecological awareness and promote environmental care behavior by transforming Islamic theological values into concrete and sustainable daily practices.
