Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of government policies in encouraging the growth of the sharia economy in Indonesia and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. Using a library research method with a qualitative approach, this study makes policy documents (Law No. 21/2008, POJK, OJK reports) as the subject and policy implementation in the sharia banking sector, halal industry, and sharia social finance as the object. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation studies of secondary sources such as journals, official reports, and publications of Bank Indonesia, then analyzed using content analysis and comparative analysis of Malaysian and United Arab Emirates policies. The results of the study show that although government policies have encouraged the growth of the sharia economy through fiscal incentives and banking regulations, the main challenges in the form of regulatory fragmentation, low sharia financial literacy, and weak coordination between institutions still hinder the optimization of potential. This study recommends simplifying regulations, increasing sharia financial education, and strengthening collaboration between related authorities to create a more conducive ecosystem.
