Abstract

This article tries to reveal the term mention of a wife in the Qur'an which focuses on two words namely Zaujah and Imraah. Then try to reveal the messages conveyed in the verse relating to the two terms mention of the wife in the Qur'an by using the method of Interpretation of Maudhu'i with regard to the relationship between character and her role as wife in family education. The results of this discussion the authors reveal include, First; the word zauj and imra'ah have the same meaning which is a wife. However, if observed more closely then it will be known that each of these words connotes individually so that it cannot be said that there are synonyms between those words. The use of the word zauj in the Qur'an is only for the context of the life of a husband and wife who truly have a sense of love and affection between the two, besides also having offspring. Second; The Islamic character in the hadith is a form of strong character in the soul from which arises acts that are irodiyyah and ikhtiyariyyah (will and choice) which become part of the character and character of someone who is based on Islamic values ​​.. This shows that the Qur'an also pays attention or can be said to recognize the position of a woman in this life even strengthen her identity by providing specific rules for her in accordance with her nature, third; From the theory of Islamic education as practiced by the Prophet, there is no doubt that a mother in educating children has a very strong and large role including the role of the wife as a mother, the wife as a child educator in the family, the wife as the first school for her child, and the wife as a companion her husband.
